In un'intervista con TV Guide, Michael C. Hall ha dichiarato: "Dexter's never more vulnerable than when he's with someone who is exploiting a need that he doesn't even sort of consciously recognize he has. I think in this season he's experiencing a need to be appreciated, and Charley appears and seems to have a sort of appreciation for and respect for what he's done and what he does, and he's very susceptible to that, and it makes him more vulnerable than usual, and that's saying something."

I don't know. I know Brian Cox plays him, but it was an interesting idea to conceive of Dexter as someone who is disintegrating to the point that he's become more than one person. I think it's an interesting idea." La Thurman ha aggiunto: "I would say that Charley thinks she knows what she doesn't know, and part of the journey was that a person who's usually got it right may not have gotten everything right, and that was pretty fun to play."

She doesn't have a billionaire bodyguard anymore, so I think she's probably still looking for somebody to protect her or maybe she's ready to protect herself. I don't know. We'll see."
